Announcement

AusGolf can best be defined as an endless series of tragedies obscured by the occasional miracle, followed by a good stiff drink.
The impacts of Covid-19 continue. Announcements earlier this week have forced all of us to assess what we can, and should, do in this new environment we all find ourselves.

With clubs being closed to play there is naturally no point in continuing the Order of Merit – so it is suspended until further notice. This means we won’t be deducting your monthly fee for April and beyond, until such time as the situation changes.

We all hope that change is sooner rather than later and when it does, we will look at restarting the Order of Merit competition that so many of you are enjoying. We reckon there will be plenty of golf happening once we are all allowed back on the course. And who knows what our form will be like after a break?

We’ll try and help as much possible by sending you a weekly instruction video from the team at Australian Golf Digest. Just because you can’t play doesn’t mean you can’t be thinking about tweaking your game in the back yard.

Don’t forget, Golf Australia have a dedicated page regarding the impacts of Covid-19 on the golf industry and we encourage you to consult Golf Australia Covid-19 for the latest information and updates.

As you know, Covid-19 has forced the postponement of the first 3 rounds of the Top 100 Challenge Series. What will happen to the rest of the Series is unknown at this stage – but if you would like to express your interest in playing (no payment required) then head on over to the Top 100 Challenge Series Expression of Interest

We wish you, your family and friends all the very best in these challenging times. Stay safe!

On the search for Australia’s No.1 Club Golfer

Australian Golf Digest is on the hunt to uncover Australia’s No.1 club golfer. As a nation of passionate golfers, many of us hit the course every week in pursuit of bragging rights as we go head to head with other friends and foes in our local club comp. But imagine being able to say that you’re not only the best golfer at your club, but the No.1 club golfer in Australia! Well that’s what we aim to find out through the Australian Golf Digest Order of Merit.

So, how does it work?

The Australian Golf Digest Order of Merit runs four quarterly competitions:

Launching on the 1st December, the Australian Golf Digest Order of Merit will run a three month series in the Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring.

SUMMER

1st December, 2019 –
29th February, 2020

AUTUMN

1st March, 2020 –
31st May, 2020

WINTER

1st June, 2020 –
31st August, 2020

SPRING

1st September, 2020 –
30th November, 2020

You’ll compete in one of six handicap grades:

To make it fair participants are split into six grades based on their official Golf Australia handicap and compete within six regions. We take your best five competition rounds as recorded on Golf Link in each series to create your ranking in the Order of Merit Leaderboard which is updated daily. So the good news is all you need to do is concentrate on playing your best golf and we do the rest.

A GRADE

Male: 0-12
Female: 0-19

B GRADE

Male: 12.1 – 19
Female: 19.1 - 27

C GRADE

Male: 19.1+
Female: 27.1+

Against fellow golfers across your Region:

The individuals leading their grade within their region at the end of each series will qualify for the national final to be held at a top 100 Golf Course where they compete against other national finalists to secure the ultimate bragging rights of Australia’s No.1 Club Golfer for that series. That’s 36 qualifiers each series!
